EFEKTIFITAS HIPEROKSIGENASI PADA PROSES SUCTIONING TERHADAP SATURASI OKSIGEN PASIEN DENGAN VENTILATOR MEKANIK DI INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

ABSTRACT

The use of a mechanical ventilator induces the clearance of airway problems, that is, the increase amount of sputum production so that it is needed appropriate nursing care. One of the effective nursing interventions is by performing suctioning action. The Suction procedure is not only mucus is inhaled, but also the supply of oxygen that enters the respiratory tract, thus allowing it to cause shortly hypoxemia characterized by a decrease in oxygen saturation (SpO2). Hyperoxygenation is very important in every procedure of inhalation in order to avoid the decrease of oxygen saturation. This research uses pre-experimental design in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. Samples were taken 20 patients with mechanical ventilation in the ICU room of Husada Utama hospital. The respondents were selected using non probability sampling; sampling saturated. The collection of data itself used is the observation sheet. And the data is analyzed using statistical test of Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.From the results of statistical test with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was obtained p-value = 0.001 (α <0.05). Based on these results the H1 accepted, it means that hyperoxygenation is effective in suctioning procedure to saturate oxygen on patients with mechanical ventilation in the ICU room of Husada Utama Hospital Surabaya. Thus, it is concluded that hyperoxygenation is effective in suctioning procedure for oxygen saturation.
