SELF CARE DEFICIT NURSING THEORY (SCDNT): PANDUAN UNTUK NURSING CARE PADA ANAK LEUKEMIA USIA TUJUH TAHUN

Chronic illness is a health problem that is occured for more than three months, which is affected to the activity of the child, and required more frequent hospitalization, and home health care. Leukemia is one of the most common chronic diseases in children. Activity limitations condition that is occured in children with chronic disease is like tightness on exertion or muscle weakness. If the child has a disorder, the activity will also be disturbed his rest. The aim of this study is described the application of Self Care Deficit Nursing Theory (SCDNT) in performing nursing care to Child, seven years old. This study is used a case study on Child with Leukemia who have problems in activity and rest. Result from this study is indicated that SCDNT can be used for guidance in performing nursing care in nursing activity and rest issues such as barriers to physical mobility, and disruption of sleep patterns. Child is showed improvement for level of activity and independence so the nursing problems are resolved.
